Data Sources

Version: 2026-09-29

This page is part of the SaysData Cloud Service Agreement. SaysData's data comes from the publishers below. Each publisher's own licence or terms govern its data, and you must comply with them when you use outputs.

The summaries below are for convenience; the publisher's own text controls. None of these publishers endorses SaysData, you, or any output.

We may change this page at any time, including adding or removing sources (Additional Terms §8(a) in the Cover Page).

Statistics Canada

Licence: Statistics Canada Open Licence

  • Permitted: Commercial use and adaptations are allowed.
  • Attribution when you reproduce data unchanged: "Source: Statistics Canada, name of product, reference date. Reproduced and distributed on an 'as is' basis with the permission of Statistics Canada."
  • Attribution when you adapt data (calculations, combinations, charts): "Adapted from Statistics Canada, name of product, reference date. This does not constitute an endorsement by Statistics Canada of this product."
  • Endorsement: Do not use the data in a way that suggests Statistics Canada endorses you or your use of it.
  • Re-identification: Do not merge or link the data with other databases to try to identify an individual person, business, or organization.

OECD

Terms: OECD Terms and Conditions. They allow you to extract, download, copy, adapt, distribute and share OECD data for any purpose, including commercial use, except where additional restrictions apply. (The OECD's Creative Commons licence covers its written content, not its data.)

  • Exceptions: Some OECD data is owned wholly or partly by third parties, or carries additional restrictions. The OECD shows this in the dataset's metadata or on its "source" tab on the OECD site. Check before relying on the general terms.
  • Attribution: Use the citation the OECD gives for the data. If there is none, cite: "OECD (year), (dataset name), (data source) DOI or URL (accessed on (date))."
  • Sharing: If you share or license work created using OECD data, include the same attribution requirement in any sub-licence you grant, and require any further sub-licensees to do the same.
  • OECD logo: Do not use the OECD logo without the OECD's express written permission.

Eurostat

Licence: Eurostat's reuse policy allows reuse of its statistical data, including commercial reuse, if you acknowledge the source. The policy implements the European Commission's reuse Decision of 12 December 2011 (2011/833/EU). See the Eurostat copyright notice.

  • Attribution: Acknowledge Eurostat as the source.

    • For a whole dataset, cite its DOI and your access date.
    • For a customised extract, cite the dataset's datacode link and your access date.
  • If you change the data: say so clearly, and state that Eurostat is not responsible for your version.

  • Exceptions: Some Eurostat data cannot be reused commercially:

    • data Eurostat identifies as belonging to sources other than Eurostat;
    • data for countries outside the EU, EFTA, and the official EU acceding and candidate countries (for example the United States, Japan, or China);
    • some trade data, including trade declared by Liechtenstein and Switzerland (1995 onward) and Austrian trade at the 8-digit Combined Nomenclature level.

    Check the copyright notice before commercial reuse.
